AIP’s voluntary Saturday program for students at the Frederick School attracts 75 children every week for a full day of tutoring and recreation. The students meet in the morning with Frederick classroom teachers for 2.5 hours of extra academic support in English and Math through individual and group tutoring, followed by fun enrichment activities with AIP staff in the afternoon. Activities are designed to help children build friendships, develop skills, and apply the content of their formal studies in an informal context. Our activities promote students’ physical and emotional health and engage them in constructive activities. Past activities have included Basketball, Jewelry-Making, Salsa Dance, Art, and Science. We serve breakfast and lunch at the program. The program also reaches out to parents with a Saturday fitness program.
