AIP provides intensive home-based treatment to youth with significant behavior problems at home, in school, or in the community. MST services are available to children and adolescents who exhibit marked anti-social, delinquent, and criminal behavior.
AIP’s MST therapist visits families’ homes 2 to 3 times a week for 3 to 5 months, working both with the child and with the parents/guardians. The clinician uses the structured approach of MST to help parents to develop a consistent and effective method for parenting their teenager while helping child to learn to make alternative choices instead of responding to the stimuli that had been triggering the misbehavior.
MST is a very exciting new treatment option in Massachusetts. It is an award winning and thoroughly researched model with proven long term outcomes that surpass traditional therapeutic interventions with behaviorally troubled youth. AIP is the first licensed provider of MST in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Children come into AIP’s MST program by referral from the Massachusetts Department of Social Services.
